Justin Monroe: Describe yourself in three words?
Tosh Yanez: Enthusiastic, Boyish and Creative
JM: What has been your most memorable photo shoot to date?
TY: My most memorable shoot was a Donna Karen Campaign; which was professionally and personally ful-fulling. It was the shot that changed the direction of my career and life.
JM: What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever been asked to do and did?
TY: The craziest thing I’ve done on a shoot, was dressing up as a werewolf and peeing on Little Red Riding Hood; which was for your book! I love the picture of “Grandma” (Ester Goldberg) blowing me away with machine guns.
JM: What was your experience like shooting with Mert and Marcus?
TY: Shooting with Mert and Marcus was an honor! I had been a fan of their work for years prior to the shoot. Not only are they brilliant artists, but they also have a great sense of humor and a unique way of making their set feel like family environment.
JM: You have modeled along side some iconic people (Kate Moss, Pam Anderson). Who was your favorite person to work with on a photo shoot?
TY: Kate Moss was one of my favorite model counterparts. She is one of the most iconic supermodels in history. I had a great time working with her. She would crack jokes with the crew all day and dance to ’80 music! She’s a huge Madonna fan and after the shoot she asked me to sing “Borderline” to her. I suck at singing but she still loved it!
JM: If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
TY: If I could change one thing about myself, it be my trait of being too nice to the wrong people.
JM: How did you get involved with the world of male modeling? Were you discovered and if so by whom?
TY: I was discovered by the editor of Teen Magazine. She would often put me in her magazine’s editorials. She was the one that first encouraged me to go in and get an agent.
JM: What goes through your mind when you see these big advertisements with your image on them?
TY: Its’ still very exciting for me. Whenever I see a billboard or magazine of myself I immediately want to show it to my parents! They love it. My mom has a whole collection of my magazines at home.
JM: What are your beauty secrets to keep up with your appearance?
TY: My beauty secret??? Dirty Martinis. haha, NO! I eat healthy and basically live at the gym. I’d like to get more sleep than I do though.
JM: If you could have a dinner party with any three people dead or alive who would it be and why?
TY: At my fantasy dinner party I’d invite Mozart, Marilyn Monroe and the Dali Lama. I’d like to think I have a bit of each one of them living in me.
JM: What is the one thing you cannot live without?
TY: The one thing I can’t live without, besides my Ipod, would be my parents! I have latino/Italian roots! We are all about Familia!
JM: What kind of legacy would you like to leave behind?
TY: I love the art and work that I have been a part of. I take pride in every image and project I’m a part of. I enjoy creating beautiful images with talented people. I love knowing that I can be a part of something that inspires people or even just help them escape from reality some times.
JM: Favorite quote of all time?

Whether it is in real life or movies such as Rambo and Terminator, Americans have always had a strong love affair with fire arms. Photographer Justin Monroe is no exception. In this series that he calls Master Blaster starring the incredible Trevor Adams, Justin pulls the trigger of our imagination, revealing how power, danger and chaos excites us. What is it about guns that is so fascinating? Is it the adrenaline rush, the loud bang or the unwelding power they posses?
Trevor Adams grew up in Spring, Texas, just north of Houston. Texas is by nature the state associated with gun power. Growing up Trevor was not completely alien to guns as his mother worked as a police officer. This probably also taught him the danger they possess and how careful you need to be with them. Trevor started modeling when he was 20 years old and has mastered the skill within the tiniest detail. Hence the fact that he plays the Master Blaster role as if it was his natural self. But nothing could be further from that image. Tall, big and impressive as Trevor Adams is, he seems to be fully loaded, but he is also a man of great sensitivity with as biggest dream to one day start his own animal charity.
Justin Monroe incites the cross hairs of sex and violence and the potential power they poses with these hot Master Blaster images that he shot exclusive for BeautifulMag. Master Blaster is a bad-ass mother-fucker who would just as soon kill you as look at you. With his fully loaded piece, Trevor Adams shows off every inch of his strong masculine physic as well as reinforcing the notion that his powerful weapon is one to be reckoned with. I remember while growing up the TV series and entertainment shows we watched. Looking back and comparing to what we are exposed to today it all seemed a bit naïve and innocent. Looking at the past few years, TV series such as The Shield, Dexter, Oz, Criminal Minds and Deadwood come to mind as our main source of entertainment. TV series that show it all. Blood, violence, sex, and foul talk. Nothing is sacred anymore, nothing hidden. It’s all there out in the open. And we, as innocent TV audience, take it in like it is the most normal thing in the world.
In fact, it is the most normal thing in the world. We are living in a time in which all is accessible. A decade ago one would carefully hide dead bodies and scenes of violence in the evening news, using polite words to describe massacres. Today our TV screens and our computer monitors are windows on the reality of what is happening just outside the protective walls from our homes. TV shows and news broadcastings have blurred into each other in an ongoing stream of cruelty and aggression, making reality TV less real every day. Is this wrong? No, not really. The world we are living in is a world of conflict and disorder. It is nothing new really. It has always been like this. The only thing that did change is that our media brings it closer to us. So what about our children? Should we not protect them from all this brutality? No, maybe not. Because what is the point in hiding them from the turbulence we call life. What we should do is educate them. Teach them right from wrong. Make them aware of the dangers that are lurking around the corners. Make them understand that the age of innocence is long gone. Only then we can hope to see a change. Only then we can start to look at violence being the solution with no end it really is. But until then we need to be realistic and accept that aggression is a part of our life and our experience world. There is only one reason why we should expose ourselves to the tools of violence.
